The Mohawk Statesman is a Fortress Age politician in Age of Empires III, available to the British. As soon as the player advances to the Fortress Age by choosing him, seven Haudenosaunee Tomahawks and a Native Scout appears in the Home City shipment point.
Before the Definitive Edition, The Mohawk Statesman gives three Iroquois Mantlets instead of Tomahawks and is available to the British at a level 10 Home City and the Portuguese at a level 40 Home City.
Strategy[]
If the player has a strategy focused on native units and has a deck accordingly, The Mohawk Statesman can be a good choice, as the units provided are natives. The Haudenosaunee Tomahawks do not contribute to the population limit, so The Mohawk Statesman can also be a good pick if the player is near the population limit, but still needs population room in the Fortress Age for unit shipments (which cannot be sent if there is not population room).
If the player intends to revolt with Canada, they should pick The Mohawk Statesman first, as Canada offers several shipments that improve Haudenosaunee Tomahawks. Haiti is also a suitable option.
Recommended shipments[]
- Florence Nightingale: Manor Houses slowly heal nearby friendly units.
- Advanced Arsenal. The technologies enabled improve the units provided.
- Wilderness Warfare (through Canada revolution): Coureurs des Bois, Cree Coureurs des Bois, Skirmishers, and native warriors get +20% hit points.
- Blood Brothers (through Canada or Haiti revolutions): Upgrades native warriors to Elite/Disciplined/Veteran and Champion/Honored/Royal Guard (if not already); Native Embassies get +40% hit points and +5 build limit.
- Native Warrior Combat (through Haiti revolution): Native warriors get +15% hit points and attack.
