Age of Empires I
In Age of Empires I, the stable is one of the major buildings. It can produce Chariots, Cavalry and War Elephants. It is also used to upgrade these Units

Age of Empires II
In Age of Empires II, the stable’s function has been reduced. It can build knights, Camels, and Scout Cavalry. It is also upgrade these units.
Age of Empires III
In Age of Empires III, Stables can train cavalry including Scout Cavalry which can be upgraded into Light Cavalry, Hussars, and Dragoons.
